Its almost summer, and that means its moving time! The rental market is starting to heat up as tons of apartments become available and everyone on a summer lease schedule starts looking for a new place to call home. So what does the rental market look like right now?
Well, rents are up. Compared to this time last year rents are up for all types of apartments. The average rental price in the past three months is just over $3,400 which is higher then anytime in recent years. The largest rent increase came for 1-bedrooms which went up by over 6%.
While rents have increased, vacancy rates have remained stable. This shows that the rental market is red hot. Thousands of New Yorkers are looking to rent right now and the summer is just getting started!
