Palisades Village was abuzz on Thursday, March 21, as The Agency’s Natasha Sizlo and Melanie Goldberger welcomed guests to The Agency’s Pacific Palisades office to celebrate their client Zibby Owens, an author, podcaster, bookstore owner, and publisher of “BLANK” — which has already claimed a spot on USA Today’s bestselling booklist. Melanie serves as Zibby’s real estate agent and assisted Owens and her husband in locating their home in Pacific Palisades.
The official book launch after-party followed a Q&A session at Zibby’s Bookshop on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. The event was part of Zibby’s “The Zibby-verse Tour,” a six-month reader and author celebration across North America. Natasha Sizlo, real estate agent and bestselling author of “All Signs Point to Paris,” was also on hand to sign copies of her debut memoir and chat with book lovers.
“BLANK” is a humorous page-turner revolving around former bestselling author Pippa Jones, who daringly chooses to publish her second novel devoid of words as a critique of the publishing industry. Pippa’s fascination with real estate is woven into the narrative, with Owens referencing The Agency and even incorporating Natasha Sizlo as the writer and real estate agent who embarks on a soul-searching journey to Paris.
The timing couldn’t have been more appropriate. March is Women’s History Month, and the room was brimming with captivating women from the literary world. Casa Dumetz wine was provided by Sonja Magdevski, winemaker, and proprietor of Casa Dumetz winery and tasting room in Los Alamos, California.
The event underscored the notion that authors, readers—and even real estate agents—are indeed the true rockstars in their respective realms.
