While we all love a glitzy grand opening event to honor our new offices, The Agency Toronto opted to put its celebratory energy towards a charitable cause. The team, led by Managing Partners Paige and Peter Torkan, donated $30,000 to The Agency’s charity partner, Giveback Homes and invited agents from the newly launched Canada offices to participate in a special Build Day event.
“Peter and I decided instead of a grand opening party, in which the money goes toward entertaining a few people just for a night, our hearts gravitated towards giving back,” said Paige. “And since we are realtors, what could be better than helping families in need have a roof over their heads?”
Our talented team lent their homebuilding skills to several townhomes at Toronto’s new Reunion Crossing community. Centrally located moments from retail and public transit, this new neighborhood comprises 20 stacked two- and three-bedroom townhomes. Before starting in on their duties, guests enjoyed refreshments and got grooving and moving with an onsite Zumba instructor.
Giveback Homes has already selected families for the residences our team helped construct, and they’re slated to move in in the summer of 2023.
After the big Build Day, the team toasted to a job well done with a happy hour at Stock Bar in Midtown Toronto, then hosted managing partners to celebrate The Agency Toronto at a special Italian dinner at Tutto Pronto in North York.
Event attendees came from near and far to show their support. In addition to the dozens of agents from the region’s local offices—including The Agency Oakville, The Agency Waterloo Region & Brantford, The Agency Muskoka, The Agency Montreal and The Agency Calgary—agents from the States were in attendance as well, with representatives flying in from our locations in Arizona, Las Vegas, Miami, Beverly Hills and D.C. Metro.
