The Agency Aspen’s Third Build Day Makes a Lasting Impact

by | Nov 7, 2024

The Agency Aspen team recently participated in their third Build Day with Habitat for Humanity, lending their time and energy to the Wapiti Commons project in Rifle, Colorado. Located in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, Wapiti Commons is a housing development designed to support local workforce families, offering homeownership opportunities to essential workers such as teachers, nurses, city employees, and others who help keep the community thriving.

The build site includes 10 townhomes, two condos as well as eight single-level condos. These units aim to meet the needs of the Valley’s diverse population, ensuring that those who contribute to the community can also enjoy stable, affordable housing.

For the third year in a row, The Agency Aspen team was joined by Kimber and Clay Ellis, Habitat employees and Wapiti Commons residents. Clay and his family, along with Kimber’s, have directly benefited from the homeownership opportunities Habitat provides, making their involvement with the build especially meaningful. Local volunteers from The Agency included Nick Edel, Paige McNeil, Monica Viall, Lisa Hatem, Madeline Bailey, Mary Faldasz and The Agency Aspen’s Managing Partner, Heather Sinclair.

“We’re passionate about bringing our energy to Habitat for Humanity job sites,” said Heather Sinclair, Managing Partner at The Agency Aspen. “Building homes with Habitat allows us to give back and engage directly with our community. From constructing playgrounds to organizing ReStore and assisting with framing and siding, each project has been a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact.”

On build day, volunteers worked on various tasks, including finishing the framing, installing siding and windows, prepping units for interior finishes, and sawing wood for frame prep. Their hard work helped to bring the homes closer to completion, ensuring they will soon be ready for the deserving families they are intended for.
