Quote: “Do one thing every day that scares you!” and “BE NICE”
What’s your motto?
I like being kept on my toes. I think that a minimal amount of discomfort every day keeps me sharp and ready for anything. And “be nice” is simple, it’s easy to forget how important it is to treat others well when we’re having a bad day (or month…or year).
Can you briefly describe a typical day at work?
I spend most of my day working on qualifying/vetting buyers and sellers for our agents, routine follow-up, and taking/making scheduled (or unscheduled calls). I spend a lot of my day talking to agents as well. Many of our agents call/text me immediately to go over their conversations, discuss next steps, and strategize on any necessary follow-up. Communication is really key and is often what pushes the needle forward.
What are the three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?
1) Never underestimate the power of good follow-up. Someone can tell you “NO” (or worse) three or more times, but if you deliver good information and value, you make a lasting impression.
2) It’s OK to be cheesy. It humanizes and personalizes the interaction, builds rapport, and helps establish a relationship with a client.
3) Always bring food. It’s an excellent way to (subtly) make your presence known and connect.
What are your four most overused words/phrases?
Absolutely, Incredible, Awesome, and (more of a team slogan)… Let F’Ing Go!
