Robin Wright Picks Up West Village Co-op

by | Jul 13, 2016

Robin Wright is the latest of a long laundry list of celebrities that now call the West Village home. She picked up this West Village penthouse for just over 3 million.

It’s a two bedroom, one bath co-op at 169 West 12th street. The penthouse was renovated from top to bottom with the intent of maintaining the building’s prewar style while blending it with modern conveniences.

The building was originally listed for $2.5 million, but Robin ended up paying just over 3 million. Which tells me there may have been a bidding war over this unit, and it looks like Robin was the winner.

The unit has 11-foot ceilings and a restored casement window frame that views the city skyline to the Empire State Building.

There is a Nublado wood burning fireplace right off of the living room that helps to provide the unit with a warm and cozy feeling. The kitchen has Sub-Zero appliances and Lefroy Brooks fixtures that were updated as part of the renovation.

The master bedroom was outfitted with an entire wall of closets that makes the room feel more like a retreat than a bedroom. In order to complete the picture of the renovation, the motorized window treatments give the apartment a 21st-century vibe as opposed to something that was built in the early 1900’s.

The building was constructed in 1922 and has 25 apartments spread out over six floors. The building is pet-friendly and has a long list of amenities that can ease your day-to-day New York City grind.

Amenities include a shared laundry room, a live-in-Super (which is always a nice feature), and storage spaces available to store everything from your Christmas decorations to your bicycle. The maintenance charge for this unit is extremely low at roughly $1,400 per month. For a penthouse unit, that is quite a bargain.
