All eyes are on NorCal’s stunning real estate offerings, from San Francisco to wine country, Carmel and beyond. As a major metropolitan hub, the Bay Area market is always under a magnifying glass. Jeff Samuels, The Agency’s Regional Manager of Northern California, noted these key themes in the region:
Exaggerated Exodus. The idea of the exodus out of the region—while making for great headlines—was vastly overstated. Both applications, as well as rents, are returning to pre-pandemic realities, which is in line with the fact that San Francisco is a world-class city where one would expect as such.
Offices Are Still Cool. While remote work has created a boom in the suburban areas, urban metros remain a draw for professionals and those seeking the amenities that such an environment provides.
Prices on the Rise. So long as both the absorption rate and interest rates remain low, we will see a combination of price acceleration in the home and rental market.
Getting Back to (the New) Normal. The overall losses in rental activity that San Francisco experienced in 2020 have been equalized by the growth in activity realized in 2021.
So, the market is healthy and happy. But how do you market beyond the Bay Area to a global network as an agent? Mauricio Umansky recently spoke on a LuxeSF agent panel on this topic, sharing insights on how to maximize your reach and tap into leading networks.
