British Columbia
Members of The Agency’s team on Vancouver Island recently volunteered for an incredible organization called Herowork, which harnesses the power of community to uplift essential charitable agencies. The organization performs “Radical Renovations” that bring the community together but have been delayed recently due to COVID restrictions. Currently, the group is working on a massive renovation to the Y’s Young Moms Program at the Kiwanis Young Family Centre. The project needed some TLC and increased capacity. Donating their time and efforts to the cause from The Agency were Kate Bell, Katherine Gray, Erin Greenwood, Chelsy Manhas, Sophia Briggs, Rob Trinh, Laura Corfield, and Michelle Cheimak.
Greater Los Angeles
Mauricio Umansky and David Parnes have been holding special webinars with innovators from across the design industry, including one with Nicola Fontanella of Argent Design. Fontanella’s interior design vision spans high-end projects around the world, including private estates, jets and yachts. Jonathan Ruiz serves on the Board of Directors for Los Angeles Family Housing, one of the largest organizations helping the homeless in L.A. find temporary and permanent housing. The Agency sponsored the 10th Annual LA Family Housing Golf Outing on October 28th to raise funds for the organization. Though the event looked a bit different this year with a virtual welcome ceremony and other precautions, players, including Jonathan, Craig Knizek and Ben Belack (pictured below) took to the beautiful course at Porter Valley Country Club to raise awareness and support for the city’s most vulnerable individuals and families. Director of Architectural Properties, Desert Communities Jeff Kohl weighed in on the state of the Palm Springs market in the The Wall Street Journal’s article about one of Richard Neutra’s most recognizable projects hitting the market for $25 million. Jeff noted the Palm Springs market “has exploded,” as buyers from L.A., San Francisco and San Diego flock to the desert.
