New York Knicks star Kristaps Porziņģis is moving to a luxury tower in Hell’s Kitchen. He rented a corner penthouse for himself at an estimated $8,000 per month, and also picked up two more apartments for his brothers for an undisclosed amount.
The building in question is the Moinian Group’s 71 story tower, Sky, at 605 West 42nd Street. The building was finished in 2015 and has over 1,150 residential units.
Experience – Sky
The Sky is currently one of the largest rental buildings in New York City and has been on the market for close to a year.
However, looking further into The Sky, it looks closer to a luxury resort rather than a residential apartment building. With the regulation size (NBA) basketball court being the tip of the iceberg, the rest of the amenities are quite impressive.
The building includes a bike room, a parking garage, laundry facilities on site, a media room, recreational facilities, a separate children’s play area, Verizon FIOS, a building concierge, a world class gym, a live-in super, a separate package room, swimming pools, and last, but not least, a virtual doorman.
The Sky also has an amazing 70,000 square foot membership club for residents to enjoy right on the property. There is also a garden and separate roof deck that residents can use to unwind. With all these luxuries, all that is missing is the mint on the pillow. The Sky may be a residential building, but it easy to see how it could be mistaken for a luxury resort.
