American portrait photographer, Annie Leibovitz, is renting out her West Village townhouse for $13,500. Although Leibowitz doesn’t currently own this townhouse, she did use to own this unit along with two others in the building.
The Triplex
Annie ended up selling the triplex to a niece of George W. Bush (yes, the former leader of the free world, that George W. Bush). All three units were sold as a package deal to Lauren Bush and husband David Lauren (son of Ralph Lauren).
This unit is available for rent at an affordable $13,500. However, apparently, it was only on the market for two days before being rented.
Securing a tenant in such an expedited timeframe is quite rare. At $13,500, the rental market responded in a very positive matter, but when the unit was originally listed at $15,000, it was unable to move.
Whether it was the timing that made a difference or the $1,500 price cut, at the end of the day, it worked and this remarkable townhouse has a new tenant.
311 West 11th Street
This West Village townhouse was built back in 1899 and has three units spread out over three floors. Each townhouse has three stories of living space not including the basement. Within each floor features six large windows that help provide plenty of natural light.
Being on a case by case basis, the landlords allow pets. Landlord approval is not that unusual regarding the pet issue, but it is usually a pretty cut and dry, yes or no.
The property has been recently renovated, and has a fireplace on each level with wide plank dark hardwood floors.
