Our Agency team continued to nab headlines in August as the temperature soared. From new-to-market masterpieces, luxe home tours, celebrity sales, and celebrating our very own Olympic hero, here’s what made headlines at The Agency this month.
RYAN COCHRANE—Inman got the scoop on our Olympic champ’s dive into the world of real estate. The publication wrote, “Prior to becoming a real estate agent, Ryan Cochrane brought home two Olympic medals, served as co-captain of Canada’s national swimming team and was four-time champion of the Commonwealth Games. The retired swimmer, who is a well-known name and a source of national pride in Canada, turned to real estate as his latest challenge not long after retiring from the sport in 2017.”
MAURICIO UMANSKY—Mauricio Umansky graced the cover of not one, but two magazines this month. In Estate Envy, Mauricio chatted about the state of the luxury market, his predictions for real estate in 2022 and the advice he gives every young agent. While in 1851 Franchise, he spoke about the strategic growth of The Agency around the globe.
BLAIR CHANG—In the article, Home Classrooms Became a Necessity During Covid. Now They’re a Selling Point, The Wall Street Journal shone the spotlight on Blair Chang’s new $70 million listing which includes a second-floor children’s wing complete with a study portal with a central library-style desk, built-in lighting and shelving. Blair told the newspaper that the children’s television lounge borders the space, with the children’s bedrooms directly behind the recreation areas.
MAURICIO UMANSKY & ERIC HASKELL – Also featured in The Wall Street Journal this month is the spectacular The Sanctuary at Loon Point. THE AGENCY DEVELOPMENT GROUP—From Los Angeles to Las Vegas, two of TADG’s amazing new development properties snagged serious headlines this month. The Hollywood Reporter shone a spotlight on Thirty Four Fifty West and how the light-filled, multi-floor units all have rare-for-Los-Angeles live/work zoning approval. This is making them a popular choice for those requiring a luxury living space as well as a full professional office or creative studio, including TikTok and YouTube creators. Meanwhile, Mansion Global took a look at the market in Las Vegas and the luxury home community, Ascaya. “At Ascaya we’ve had a couple of recent transactions that went for well over $1,000 per square foot, which was previously unheard of,” Mike Leipart, who heads TADG, told the outlet.
THE AGENCY NORCAL—SF Registry shared the story of how our agents and staff from The Agency’s Northern California offices teamed up with Habitat For Humanity to transform two neglected properties into affordable housing and help community members in need. The Agency partners with Giveback Homes on philanthropic efforts to help alleviate the stresses on society and create more resilient communities.
CYN SILVA—Cyn Silva and her amazing artwork were recently featured in Modern Luxury Interiors Scottsdale. When she is not helping clients with all their real estate needs, Cyn regularly exhibits her artwork in galleries in Scottsdale and the San Francisco Bay Area.
SANDRO DAZZAN—Pamela Anderson recently enlisted Sandro Dazzan to sell her Malibu manse. Closing this month for $11.8 million, the new owners are Kreiss luxury furniture heirs and interior designers Loren and Kate Kreiss.
