Honor Roll: The Agency Named Among L.A.’s Most Influential Leaders & Top Ranking Brokerages

While The Agency has grown to more than 80 locations around the globe, Los Angeles still holds a special place in our hearts—after all, the City of Angels is home to our West Coast headquarters, and its where The Agency’s story began. 

We’re thrilled to share that The Agency’s Founder and CEO, Mauricio Umansky, and Principal, Santiago Arana, have been named to The Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500. This prestigious list celebrates the city’s 500 most influential leaders and executives who have made a tremendous positive impact on their respective fields. Mauricio has appeared on the list all eight years, since its inception in 2015. 

“The entire team at The Agency is so proud to see Mauricio and Santiago honored on the LA500, once again,” said The Agency President, Rainy Hake Austin. “Once you meet one of them, you understand why they’re so successful—they bring a wholehearted, compassionate, and thoughtful approach to every aspect of their business and lives. We’re also celebrating a recent The Real Deal feature that named The Agency as one of L.A.’s top real estate brokerages by sales volume. The Agency ranked #3 with $4,786,114,010 in sales volume—making us one of the highest-ranked luxury brokerages, an incredible achievement seeing as our entire L.A. County team comprises just over 500 agents. 

In the article, Mauricio readily shared the spotlight, crediting The Agency’s top-producing teams—including Bond Street Partners, the Chernov Team, Grauman & Rosenfeld and the Santiago Arana team, to name a few—with helping The Agency stay competitive and nimble in the marketplace. 

“We’re driving a small speedboat. Everybody else is driving a mega cruise liner,” Mauricio told The Real Deal. “It gives us the opportunity to pivot, practice things, try things. If they work, great. If they don’t, adjust fast. That is our competitive advantage.”
