Located between 1st Avenue and Park Avenue, from East to West and 23rd Street and 14th Street, from North to South, Gramercy is a serene neighborhood with great food and tree-lined streets. Perfectly located in the center of Manhattan, this neighborhood is ideal for professionals working in both Midtown and the Financial District.

Accessibility: The area is served by the 4/5/6 and L trains. You can also access the N/R line with a short walk west of the neighborhood. M15, M9, and M23 buses will all help you get around this area as well. You will find that walking is easy and preferable for in-neighborhood travel as the streets are not heavily trafficked by cars or tourists.

Lifestyle: The lifestyle in Gramercy is one that many New Yorkers desire and can be hard to find. It is one of quiet and calm. Due to the lack of tourist attractions or any major landmarks, you will find that the streets of Gramercy to be filled with your neighbors. Almost every street has plants and flowers in addition to the trees lining the sidewalks. When the weather allows for it, you will find residents of this area like to sit outside on benches, enjoy the park or ride their bikes around town.

Restaurants and bars: Gramercy has good food and drink in spades. Celebrity chef Danny Meyer has made this neighborhood home to his restaurant Gramercy Tavern, which he started with a young Tom Colicchio. It is a classic, New-American style restaurant with a much coveted Michelin Star. If you’re looking for something, more casual check out The Stand. The triple threat of restaurant, bar, and comedy club makes this a unique and cool place to be in Gramercy. The Peking duck pizza will make you wish you lived right next door.

Cost of living: Gramercy has a mix of townhouses, walk-ups and high rise luxury buildings making it easy for people to find homes at a variety of price points. Median rent for a one bedroom is on the high side at $3,800/month. Median listing price in the area is $1.25 million but bordering the exclusive Gramercy Park bumps listing prices up to $1.85 million.
