Nick Denton, the founder of Gawker, is hoping to find a renter for his Soho loft. In order to expedite the process, Denton has lowered the monthly rental rate by a $1,000 to $14,000 per month.
Unfortunately for Denton, he and his website have become a part of the gossip instead of just reporting about it.
The Bayard At 76 Crosby Street
Standing on the corner of Crosby and Spring Street, this pre-war building was built first in 1884 with six condos spread out across six floors.
The Bayard originally started out as a warehouse and was eventually converted into the loft-style apartments seen today.
Amenities within the Bayard include a full-time doorman, an elevator, and a storage room. This particular condo actually has a washer and dryer in the unit, which means no more lugging your dirty laundry to the laundromat in order to keep your unmentionables clean.
The building also has a roof deck that helps to extend the living space not only for Denton’s condo but all residents of the building.
Condo #2B
Denton’s unit does come fully furnished, which at 2,556 square feet is fairly sizeable. The condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with 12 foot plus ceilings and a private entrance located on Spring Street.
The chef kitchen includes a Viking six burner cooktop with grill, a Miele wine cooler, a double wall oven, and stainless steel counters.
The loft features cast iron columns and wood beams throughout with the master bathroom having a spa-like bathroom with a large glass shower and a massive teak Japanese soaking tub.
