Park City is a dream destination, known for its abundance of year-round outdoor activities and of course it’s star-studded Sundance film festival held at the beginning of each year. As the summer cools down to make way for the snow, the Park City real estate market is showing no sign of slowing down.
During summer, people from drivable destinations such as California, Arizona, and Texas flocked to Park City and snapped up rentals and second homes as a departure from city living and to take advantage of all of the outdoor activities that safely allow for social distancing, including some of the country’s best hiking and biking.
Jessie Weinstein, who was born and raised in Park City, notes that people who own second homes in the region have been using them for extended stays, seasonal renters are now buying, and the demand for vacation rentals is at an all time high and will continue through fall and the winter months. While the ski season may be a little different this year, Park City offers plenty of opportunity for socially distanced snowshoeing, cross country skiing and more.
In Salt Lake City, under an hour drive from Park City, the state’s capital is also seeing an influx of buyers and a market that is in hot demand. Jessie notes that many listings are receiving multiple offers and are being sold over asking price, within just 24 hours of properties listing.
