Johnson just listed her Upper East Side apartment for $2.25 million. It’s a charming one bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a terrace. The condo is just over eight hundred square feet at 30 East 85th Street.
The condominium is considered one of the neighborhoods most luxurious white glove buildings. Only one block from Museum mile and Central Park, this specially designed condo offers fantastic views.
The apartment has beautiful hardwood floors along with an open kitchen and two marble baths. Adding in a full-time doorman as well as a garage, this unit is at the peak of convenience.
Value in Numbers
Betsey Johnson’s price tag to have her old apartment is not that unreasonable. Back in 2001, this same apartment changed hands for the low, low price of only $800,000.
Fast forward to May 2008, looks like Ms. Johnson picked up the property for a little more than $1,850,000. Betsey is listing her old abode only $375,000 more than what she paid eight years ago. That’s a reasonable jump from a buyer’s perspective I would think.
However, it’s curious to know what type of appreciation is ahead for this unit over the next 5-10 years. Are we looking at only a couple hundred thousand or less every five years?
