Have you herd? The Agency partnered with our new office, The Agency Hamptons, to sponsor the Hampton Classic, a prestigious, iconic event and one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the nation.
This multi-day competition—which kicked off August 27 and concluded September 3—attracts amateur and professional equestrians from around the globe who gather in hopes of trotting away with the prize money—which tops out at over $800,000. National champion hunter competitors, Olympic medalists, adult amateurs and young children make up the field, partaking in more than 200 separate competitions.
The Agency Hamptons’ local team, led by Managing Partners Tyler Whitman and Dana Trotter, took center stage for the weekend’s activities, with Dana doubling as an event host and competitor, placing 3rd in the Adult Jumper High competition. Congrats, Dana!
Here, we’ve corralled a recap of all The Agency’s events at the Hampton Classic—read on to get all the details, straight from the horse’s mouth.
The Agency Hamptons Grand Opening
To kick things off on Friday, The Agency hosted a special happy hour at the new Bridgehampton office at 2462 Main Street—complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by The Agency’s Founder and CEO, Mauricio Umansky.
Dozens of The Agency’s team members from the tristate area and around the nation traveled to the Hamptons to celebrate the office’s grand opening and lend support throughout the weekend. Guests included Daniel Tzinker, Molly Townsend, Paul Greenberg, Heather Sinclair, Joy Vance, Jason Farabee, Brian Fairweather Jr., Burke Smith, Rich Cave, Nuisha Walker, Adolphe Khouri, Steve Bailey, Katia Bailey, Sean O’Neill, Wendy Walker, Kacey Bingham, Zar Zanganeh, Laura Corrigan, Makenzie Green, Mike Smith, Nick Campansano, Kristine Semrau, Megan Williamson and Damon Williamson.
Fast-Paced Speed Challenges
Saturday started off with the $78,000 The Agency 5* Speed Stake, a heart-pounding challenge at the Hampton Classic grounds, for which The Agency was a proud sponsor. Plus, our private VIP chalet space provided a front row seat to the high-speed competition and was the perfect place to sip beverages and lounge in true Agency style while taking in the rest of the day’s spectacular events.
In the end, Irish rider Darragh Kenny topped the leaderboard, besting a field of 40 entries representing 14 nations while riding Kerry Anne LLC’s 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Eddy Blue. The speed demons stopped the clock in a faultless, blistering time of 69.27 seconds.
Saturday evening, to conclude the day’s events at The Hampton Classic, The Agency Hamptons hosted a VIP party at the Sagaponack Distillery that was truly an evening to remember. Guests enjoyed curated cocktails from the distillery’s bespoke collection and elevated appetizers while they grooved to a DJ and took in a special show by burlesque performer Ginger Snaps.
“It felt so good to celebrate the opening of our new office alongside so many amazing team members from The Agency,” said Tyler. “Dana and I love this area and have been so excited to share it with our colleagues from around the world.”
Hampton Classic Grand Prix
To end the weekend on a high note—quite literally—The Agency hosted team members and guests at our VIP chalet for the Hampton Classic Grand Prix, the competition’s highest jumping challenge. Plus, the Hamptons Classic awarded The Agency the coveted blue ribbon for “Most Innovative” table at the event. We want to extend a special thank you to our florist Dearest Rachel, who helped design our blooms for the weekend’s events, and to our partner, Agencia Insurance.
“I have to say, this weekend flew by! But the feelings of gratitude I have for The Agency team are going to stick with me a long time,” said Dana. “I am so pleased we were able to show the Hamptons what we’re all about—true camaraderie, great service and, of course, fun.”
“This was such an incredible weekend for our team, on so many fronts,” said Mauricio. “I’m thrilled that so many of The Agency’s own came out to the Hamptons to support our sponsorship efforts at the Hamptons Classic and to celebrate Tyler, Dana and the new office in Bridgehampton. Summer may be ending, but for The Agency, things are always heating up!”
