5 Fantastic Ways to Wrap Up the Summer Season in Park City

by | Aug 28, 2020

The summer season may be nearing an end, but the long, sunny days aren’t over yet. There’s still plenty to enjoy in and around Park City before the leaves turn and the fall season gets underway. Here are some of our favorite activities to make the most of the early days and weeks of September.

Park City Mountain Resort – Monday, September 7 is closing day for the Alpine Slide and the Mountain Coaster. The slide features 3,000 feet of luge-like track, making it one of the longest slides in the world, and with multiple tracks, you can experience a different ride each time. The Mountain Coaster is Utah’s longest, with more than a mile of loops and curves and speeds up to 25mph. Enjoy the scenery while you get your adrenaline pumping. Scenic Lift Rides also end on Monday, providing access to miles of hiking trails, or you can simply cruise up and down, enjoying the ride and the views.

Utah Wine Festival – The festival is underway this weekend in Cedar City, where you can learn about Utah’s beautiful vineyards and wineries. Saturday evening is the VIP Cocktail reception as well as the Festival Farm-to-Fork Dinner at Red Acre Farm. Sunday offers a Picnic In The Vineyard at Twin Peaks Vineyard. Find details and tickets here.

Park City Farmer’s Market – The farmer’s market is still underway on Wednesdays, offering seniors access from 11am-12pm and the general public from 12pm-5pm through October 17. Support your local farmers and enjoy a selection of fresh produce, from peaches to cherries, arts, crafts, flowers and an array of other vendors.

Chalk the Walk – Happening this afternoon (Saturday, September 5), this free sidewalk art event showcases unbelievable chalk art, as artists spend the day filling the sidewalks around the Library’s Viridian Event Center with colorful artwork. Voting is available at the event and online, with winners to be announced Monday.

Utah State Fair – With over 150 years of history celebrating the Agricultural roots of Utah, the state fair is back with some changes this year. Reimagined as “A September to Remember,” the fair will run from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 20 at the Utah State Fairpark, featuring food, animals and rides, highlighting the state’s agricultural roots.
