On a recent late-summer evening, guests and agents gathered in Dana Point to toast the unveiling of The Wavecrest Collection at Beach Road and its two new beachfront homes.
The two side-by-side estates, Montauk (35341 Beach Road) and Zuma (35345 Beach Road), were built by the family-run Mur-Sol builders, developed by architect Jack Garland and designed by Barclay Butera. Montauk’s traditional Cape Cod-inspired aesthetic—spread over 3,705 square feet—is a fascinating contrast to the 3,761-square-foot Zuma estate’s more contemporary California design. Both homes boast fine decorative details, 96-bottle wine rooms and oceanfront decks that look out onto the picturesque Capistrano Beach. Each showcase the best features of coastal living, from their easy beach access to their spacious, open-plan indoor-outdoor layouts.
“These two homes each have their own unique style, but both are such beautiful examples of contemporary beach living,” says Phillip Caruso, who represents the property along with Managing Partner of The Agency’s Orange County office, Michael Caruso, James Harris and David Parnes. “And have you seen this view? I could sit and enjoy it all day. It’s fantastic.”
Guests arrived to the neighborhood’s guard-gated entry and were shuttled to the homes via Echo Golf Carts. As they toured Zuma and Montauk, guests sipped wine and champagne from Epic Wine and Spirits, took part in a tasting by Carbonadi Vodka and enjoyed small bites from Joy Monger Charcuterie & More. Local Orange county band The Chancers played classic 1970’s and modern rock songs on the patio of the Montauk residence, with the ocean and the Channel Islands as their backdrop.
As the sun set over the Pacific, attendees enjoyed their last flutes of champagne to the mellow tunes of the band and the sound of the surf.
