How to Celebrate Lobster Season in Turks & Caicos

by | Aug 29, 2019

With Lobster Season now underway, it’s time to decide where to get your lobster fix on Providenciales, Grand Turk or the Sister Islands of North and Middle Caicos.

Grand Turk

Sandbar Restaurant – The quintessential beach bar, located on Governor’s Beach just off Front Street Sandbar, is the perfect location for a lazy afternoon lunch—just be sure to stick around for sunset and the famed “green flash.” The quality of the food is indisputable and draws all manner of patrons, from sandal-wearing tourists to well-healed attorneys on break from the nearby Supreme Court, everyone’s a fan of Sandbar.
Must-Try – Lobster Curry

Guanahani Restaurant & Bar – Outdoor dining with the sound of the waves on Pillory Beach to keep you company, what more could you want? Offering a refreshing fusion of flavors for breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner, the charm of this restaurant at Bohio Dive Resort is matched only by the quality of the food.
Must-Try – Angels on Horseback (Lobster wrapped in bacon)

North and Middle Caicos

Mudjin Bar and Grill –Overlooking the unmatched Mudjin Harbour and Dragon Cay from Blue Horizon Resort, the Mudjin Bar and Grill is a mecca for tourists and locals taking on a day trip to the Sister Islands. The elevated deck provides epic vistas from which patrons can (if they are lucky) see passing humpback whales during their seasonal migration.
Must-Try – Cracked Lobster

Last Chance Bar and Grill – The turquoise waters of Bottle Creek make for a surreal background for the aptly named Last Chance Bar and Grill. Located at the Eastern end of North Caicos the restaurant’s entrees are only surpassed by the decadent homemade desserts. A definite repeat venue for North Caicos guests.
Must-Try – Lobster Risotto

Providenciales

Magnolia Restaurant and Wine Bar – Perched high above Turtle Cove in the former Erebus Hotel Magnolia, this restaurant is steeped in history (the original developers began the development of Providenciales in the 1960s). If walls could talk these would be some of the most valuable on the island. Magnolia’s elevated perch offers unmatched sunsets and panoramic views, from Blue Mountain to Grace Bay.
Must-Try – Grilled Lobster

Crackpot Kitchen – Home of the TCI’s Culinary Ambassador, Chef Nik, Crackpot Kitchen is a blend of international and local cuisine—think conch tacos, Guinness-braised oxtails and Johnny Cake waffles with guava. Located in the heart of Grace Bay, Crackpot Kitchen continues to redefine Island Fusion.
