CELEBRATE CATS HERE – Calling all cat lovers and feline fanatics: CatCon, the world’s largest cat-centric pop culture event, returns to Pasadena Convention Center June 29th & 30th for a weekend of celebrity cat meet and greets, merch, seminars, adoption opportunities and more. Since its inception in 2015, the annual two-day event has welcomed 62,000 attendees and helped pair nearly 500 cats with forever homes.
PARTY HERE – Nothing says summer in L.A. like a good old-fashioned block party. On June 8th, Playhouse Block Party celebrates everything art and culture with more than 20 performances on two different stages—from jazz to ballet folklorico—plus family-friendly interactive activities, food, drinks and guided tours. Taking place on June 22nd at the Rose Bowl Stadium, the annual vegan festival, presented by Goldenvoice, serves as a fun, open-air venue to explore the best in plant-based food and drinks, live music and community building.
GET YOUR MELON ON HERE – Celebrating all things watermelon, the all-you-can-eat California Watermelon Festival, taking place June 29th and 30th at Hansen Dam Soccer Fields, offers two days of pink-and-green-themed fun for the whole family. From incredible watermelon carving showcases and delectable desserts to pony rides, BMX stunts and watermelon skiing, there’s no shortage of fun—or melon (60,000 pounds of fresh-off-the-farm California watermelons, to be exact!) to be had at this beloved summer event.
CHALK IT UP TO EXPERIENCE HERE – Contrary to popular belief, sidewalk chalk isn’t just for kids. The 27th Annual Pasadena Chalk Festival at The Paseo brings over 600 skilled chalk artists from around the world together to celebrate the art form. Officially named the largest street painting festival by the Guinnesss World Record, the event takes place on June 15th and 16th and features live music and entertainment, a “chalk of fame,” silent auction, classic car show and more, with proceeds benefiting vital arts and learning programs in local schools.
