The Liddel is quickly nearing completion on the Wilshire Corridor, bringing a design-forward, contemporary living experience unlike any other along L.A.’s “Golden Mile.” Featuring a collection of 56 residences, The Liddel displays the singular design vision of the renowned Jamie Bush, the interior architect behind the common areas, which bring something fresh and dynamic to L.A.’s condominium style of living. The amenity spaces display an unexpected blend of modern style and classic sophistication meant to captivate and inspire.
“With The Liddel, we wanted to acknowledge the design savvy of our clientele. We aren’t doing these beige spaces that are incredibly tailored and safe, but rather infusing moments of surprise and delight throughout.” explains Jamie. “We didn’t want to create spaces you pass through and occasionally sit in, but rather spaces that can serve as an extension of your home, your living room—places to gather, connect, and entertain guests.”
From the moment you enter The Liddel, it’s clear this isn’t your typical Wilshire Corridor offering. The entrance and welcoming salon serve as a contemporary garden room with fresh greens, creams and pops of color—immediately displaying the holistic and modernist Californian vision infused throughout the building. The residents’ club lounge was designed for entertaining, featuring an exquisite bar, fireplace, dramatic lighting and glass doors that open to a sublime outdoor terrace.
One of the most unique and sophisticated spaces is the wine room, named The Cellar, which stuns with ebonized oak walls, brass accents and aubergine tiles, featuring temperature-controlled storage for residents. The adjacent private dining room offers an intimate setting for dinner parties or celebrating special occasions, while a catering kitchen can accommodate cooking classes and private chef service, with direct elevator access to the residences.
“We wanted to activate the spaces not just with an eclectic mix of color, texture, artwork and finishes,” Jamie adds. “There are highly stylized aspects but also an understated, casual approach to the choices we’ve made that make the spaces feel livable.“
The Garden Lounge is the perfect example of a livable space, offering a zen-like setting with NanaWall folding glass doors that open to the “backyard.” And atop The Liddel is the quintessential L.A. gathering space, The Sky Lounge, a rooftop terrace for gathering, dining and sunset cocktails, featuring a fireplace, BBQ and lounge with panoramic city views.
Promoting a healthful and active lifestyle, The Liddel also features a spacious, state-of-the-art fitness studio and provides each residence with a bike, allowing for easy access throughout the community, whether pedaling to nearby fitness centers, jogging trails or farmers’ markets. In addition to the lifestyle amenities, residents enjoy 24-hour concierge service, valet service in the private cobblestone motor court and underground parking with additional storage for each residence.
The amenities complement the thoughtful design of the residential offerings, which include a range of floor plans, from 1,030-square-foot, one-bedroom homes to magnificent, three-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot penthouses with private rooftop terraces. Each features highly curated design details, including wide plank, white oak floors, custom Atelier de Troupe light fixtures and European-style kitchens. The Liddel is slated for completion in May.
