On Thursday, July 20, innovators from the golf, surf, and publishing worlds gathered in San Clemente to celebrate the launch of The Golfer’s Journal, a new quarterly publication dedicated to the culture, history, places, and characters that define the game of golf. The magazine, from the publishers of The Surfer’s Journal, promises to fill a void in the industry with artful and intelligent content fueled by a fiercely independent voice and some of the most talented artists, writers, and photographers in the game.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean from one of San Clemente’s most exceptional luxury estates, guests enjoyed fresh bites from local caterer, Kitchen Vibes and refreshing summer sips courtesy of Nolet’s Finest Gins, William Hill Wine, and Towne Park Brew Co. as they mingled and explored the home’s expansive grounds. Electronic music duo, Goldfish, who flew in from Amsterdam for the occasion, kept the crowd dancing into the night with their signature mix of live instruments and house beats.
Proving the perfect venue for the high summer fête was 4130 Calle Isabella, a nearly 13,000-square-foot seaside compound located in the guard-gated Cotton Point Estates. Represented by The Agency’s Santiago Arana, the residence captures an elegant yet laidback Southern California vibe, showcasing a staggering 450 feet of ocean frontage that encourages entertaining with expansive lawns, generous terraces, and mature gardens.
“The Golfer’s Journal launch was surreal,” said Publisher Brendon Thomas. “To have golf industry titans and players come together and mingle with surf stars was incredible. The Golfer’s Journal does things a little differently and our launch party was no different. Without fail everyone arrived at the venue slack-jawed. In terms of the party planning, we didn’t have to do much. We just had to invite some friends and make sure there was enough food and drink… the home is a destination in and of itself.”
