“Time may change me,” David Bowie sings on Changes, “but I can’t trace time.”
This week, Swiss watch brand Raymond Weil unveiled a ticking tribute to the late icon that’s as unique as the shapeshifting artist himself; proof you might not be able to trace time, but you certainly can look good keeping it.
In collaboration with the David Bowie Estate, the elegant freelancer-model “David Bowie” timepiece pays homage to the legendary musician just in time for what would have been his 70th birthday. The 42mm case features a dial that resembles a vinyl record along with Bowie’s signature design cues, including the iconic lightning bolt from the cover of his 1973 album, Aladdin Sane, and the red Bowie logo from 1974’s Diamond Dogs.
Produced in a 3,000-piece, limited, numbered series, the self-winding watch is powered by the RW4200 automatic movement and equipped with a 38-hour power reserve. Finished with a classic portrait of David Bowie on its sapphire caseback, shot by renowned photographer Terry O’Neill, the sleek timepiece will ensure you show up to your meetings on time—and with the Thin White Duke by your side.
