On Sunday, November 13, Cindy Ambuehl and The Agency joined P.S. ARTS and fellow sponsors at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar for the organization’s 26th annual “Express Yourself” event, raising more than half a million dollars to fund year-long arts education for nearly 3,000 Los Angeles students.
Driven to improve the lives of children by providing high-quality arts education to California’s underserved public schools and communities, the star-studded event drew some 1,500 guests, including Adam Scott, Mark Feuerstein, Heidi Klum, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia stars Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Charlie Day.
In keeping with P.S. ARTS’ mission, the hangar was transformed into an arts and crafts wonderland complete with colorful tents, photo booths, and craft tables on hand to delight children and adults alike. Lisa Price of Priceless Interiors and her team partnered with The Agency to create a comfortable and inviting living room for our booth, Home Is Where The Art Is, decked out in Rams-themed gear in honor of the team’s return to Los Angeles. We even screened the game for parents to enjoy while kids fashioned wallets, bowties, and other funky creations out of roll upon roll of colorful Duck Tape generously provided by Duck Brand.
Other notable attractions included E! Entertainment’s pop culture photo wall, Snapchat’s silent disco, and Au Fudge’s cookie decorating booth. The Doppler Effect, a kid-fronted rock band, wowed the crowd with songs by Sublime and Prince, reflecting one of the many forms of artistic expression P.S. ARTS encourages children to explore.
“There is no limit to the long-term, positive impact art education can have on shaping a child’s mind and creativity,” said Cindy. “It is for this reason that I’m such a strong supporter of P.S. ARTS. This was my fourth year at ‘Express Yourself,’ and I’m honored to have partnered with The Agency, Duck Brand, and Priceless Interiors to support this wonderful organization and the work they do. I can’t wait to participate again in 2017!”
