Tesla test drives in secluded spots, access to the most exclusive clubs, flights on a private jet to the The Hamptons. This could be your average weekend if you’re a member of Magnises, where a little black card gives Millennials the royal treatment, all for just a $250 per year membership.
Founded at the age of 21 by Billy McFarland, Magnises is actually more than just a card – it’s a members’ only club that offers a new kind of social community beyond hashtags and tweets. No doubt targeting a younger crowd of adventurists and experience seekers, the website claims that it’s more than just a card that offers access to a ton of elevated perks, but to the “perfect professional network and social community”.
Currently only available in New York and D.C. (with plans to expand to the West Coast), membership includes the card itself and the Magnises mobile concierge app, which connects you to special perks and VIP service at restaurants, clubs, gyms, bars, shops and more. The social part of the membership comes in the form of invitations to A-List events, chef-series dinners and other exclusive gatherings. The card is linked to an already existing credit or debit card, so technically there’s a limit to your spending. But, if you’re going to spend, you might as well do it knowing you’ll get guaranteed reservations at that hot new restaurant.
