The Agency’s Michael Sutton gave us an exclusive preview into the 1892 Rising Glen estate on LXTV’s Open House on NBC March 20, a show that highlights the hottest homes on the market. In this episode, viewers are invited high in the Hollywood Hills to experience a glamorous home formerly owned by the Broccoli family, producers of most of the James Bond films.
Originally built in 1959 and remodeled in 2011, the home’s architecture borrows ideas from French Normandy style while fully embracing quintessential, indoor/outdoor California living with all the main rooms opening up onto a pool deck terrace. Michael first introduces the home’s grand living room featuring soaring, 25-foot ceilings, a fireplace, and a series of french doors allowing you to see from Catalina all the way to Palos Verdes. “The dual function of this room really is that it can be elegant and cozy at the same time,” says Michael. “You can turn on that chandelier and fireplace at night and entertain with friends, or you can just chill, read a book, relax and watch the sun go down in front of you.”
The virtual tour then leads one into the home’s dining room with inset antique mirrors, a light-filled kitchen enhanced with white Carrara marble countertops, and a junior suite with adjoining sitting room and its own private balcony overlooking the tennis court. A multi-purpose sunroom is an exceptionally dreamy retreat with its glass walls and decorative blue tile floors enveloping crisp white furniture.
