The recently listed custom built villa in Palos Verdes is the Wall Street Journal’s “House of the Day.”
Built in 1997, the villa features 180 degrees of ocean view and a merlot vineyard. The 5-bedroom estate at 3300 Palos Verdes Drive includes a two-story great room with hand-painted ceiling, marble floors inlaid with mosaics and French doors that capture the views and the light. As the WSJ notes:
“They wanted the home to feel ‘like an Italian villa that had been passed down through the family.”
The property is home to former publishing executive Georgene McKim, and her husband, a retired garment industry executive, James LaBarba. The WSJ explains that the couple spent six years designing and building this 12,278 square foot villa. They are now selling as they plan to downsize.
