Downtown LA
The recently launched Ace Hotel has already defined itself as a monumental destination for the newly revitalized Broadway, and is leading the way for all of the new shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues sweeping through the urban oasis. LA Chapter, spearheaded by Brooklyn Chef Ken Addington, curated to be an all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner joint, has instantly distinguished itself as one of the coolest restaurants/bars in downtown Los Angeles.
Although Chef Addington brought over several iconic dishes from his NY restaurant, Five Leaves, LA Chapter has been refined to trend along the new street of contemporary tastemakers and trendsetters. Start any meal with a delicious side of House-made Ricotta spread on grilled fruit bread with fresh figs and honeycomb, or the Grilled Shishito Peppers with smoked sea salt. They’ve also included several progressive plates for the cultivated tongue such as the Salt and Pepper Cuttlefish served with fried lemon and spicy malt vinegar, or the Grilled Octopus with pistachio puree, both of which are ideal for any small-plate occasion.
The excitement doesn’t stop there though, the unique dining room is decked out with old-school, black and white checkered floors and beautiful interior architecture from the original United Artists building from 1927 still makes a bold statement. The vibe is über-chic with patrons dressed to the ‘nines for dinner; ladies adorned in fur with red painted lips à la Gwen Stefani, escorted by men accessorized in berets and cross-body bags.
The perfect spot for new dining or adventuresome people watching, LA Chapter even has a cocktail menu based on the level of alcohol you want to consume, from non-alcoholic, low, mid or high-proof drinks! Genius idea for a first date when you know you shouldn’t imbibe in half a bottle of Mike’s Hard Lemonade!
