To mark the occasion, the city will be celebrating all month long, starting with the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day, where a float will honor the city’s “historical character and charm.” Hail to the 90210 by READING THIS → the 100th Anniversary Edition of In The Spirit Of Beverly Hills from the luxury-book publisher Assouline and written by Nancie Clare, former editor of Los Angeles magazine.
GO HERE → The Forum in Inglewood, which is reopening on January 15 with a performance by the quintessential Southern California rock group, the Eagles. With its multimillion-dollar renovation, the historic arena is sure to give the Staples Center a run for its money.
GRAB A FORK AT → dineLA’s Restaurant Week beginning January 20 thru the 31 and check off those bucket list chefs and eateries you’ve been dying to try. Be sure not to miss newcomers Allumette, Herringbone LA, and Mud Hen Tavern who will be joining the round-up of prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner. DO THIS → photo l.a., the 23rd Annual International Los Angeles Photographic Art Exposition fusing the photography and arts communities under one roof. The event will be held at its new location downtown at the L.A. Mart from January 16 – 19.
WATCH THIS → The L.A. Kings will host the Anaheim Ducks in a regular-season game under the stars at Dodger Stadium. As part of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, this unique setting will be the first of its kind in California, offering views of the San Gabriel Mountains as the puck drops on Saturday, January 25th at 6:30 p.m.
STAY TUNED FOR → Zinc Cafe, set to open by the end of the month in the historic Arts District. Originally inspired by the street-side cafes that populated the college town of Berkeley, this open-air marketplace will be joined by neighborhood favorites The Pie Hole, Wurstkuche, and Handsome Coffee Roasters.
