The Agency’s Mauricio Umansky recently spoke with FORBES, dishing on a number of business and personal topics, from his success secrets to his favorite LA restaurants to whether he thinks The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been a “blessing or curse.” We pulled together a few of his responses below. For the full interview, go here.
On buying a home in Los Angeles:
“It’s as thriving, livable and exciting a city as London, New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco, and yet so far behind those cities on pricing.”
On agents moving too quickly when working with clients:
“If you move too fast, you have to go back and fix things or, worse, retreat. If you make your decisions carefully, considerately and with reflection and research, you’re much better off.”
On the importance of keeping your cool:
“Stay calm in the chaos. That allows you to listen and observe. If you’re calm, you’ll ask better questions and be more patient in hearing the answers.”
On creating an “emotional moment” when selling a home:
“The day of the showing, I’ll arrive hours in advance to make sure it feels right. The right lighting, the right mood, the right smells; opening the right doors and windows. The client has to feel swept up in the experience.”
