Santa Monica will be flexing its tech muscles next week when it kicks off Silicon Beach Fest, Los Angeles’s original and largest startup tech entertainment festival, celebrating the city’s presence as a fast emerging hub for start-up companies. Once just a made-up nickname, “Silicon Beach” now carries the same weight as our “Silicon Valley” neighbor to the North and “Silicon Alley” counterpart in New York, each region representing a dense population of creative talent and digital innovation.
In fact, Los Angeles was ranked the #2 startup city (after Silicon Valley) in the U.S. according to the Startup Genome’s Startup Ecosystem world report.
“The great news is that the Silicon Beach community is still growing. More startups, incubators, and funds are showing up,” commented Lori Kozlowski, an online contributor to Forbes, in a recent article. “There is no doubt, this is a place of opportunity.”
The opening night kicks off Wednesday, June 19 with a VIP party at the luxurious Viceroy Hotel, which will continue poolside long into the night. The four-day celebration will feature Hollywood entertainment speakers and industry CEOs at parties, panels, demo day, startup showcase, and many more events throughout the event.
Everything from fashion, gaming, investing, design, e-commerce, and social advertising will be showcased at different venues throughout Santa Monica. For your chance to take part in one of the top entrepreneurial regions in the world, visit their website.
