In a FORBES exclusive, The Agency’s Mauricio Umansky and Jay Harris talk publicly for the first time about The Carolwood Estate, the former Walt Disney property, set on nearly 4 acres in Holmby Hills with 35,000 square feet of living space.
As FORBES notes, The Carolwood Estate officially came to market in October of 2012, and until now, neither the asking price nor images have been available to the public.
“It’s a very special property that isn’t going to sell quietly, but we try to market it as quietly as possible and keeping it off the MLS is one of the tactics,” co-listing agent Harris tells FORBES.
“This is a true, true definition of a trophy property,” adds Umansky.
Highlights of the estate include include a wine cellar, pool house, tennis court, putting green, custom movie room, three bars, library, gym, and two safe rooms. Among the iconic keepsakes from Walt Disney’s years spent on this land is the etching that reads the date “1950” above an ivy-covered miniature stone archway. The etching marks the spot where his famous train, the “Carolwood Pacific Railroad,” as it came to be known, emerged from an underground tunnel.
