Survey Seeks To Know How Downtown LA “Lives, Works, and Plays”

by | Apr 11, 2013

What’s on your wish list for Downtown LA? From now until April 14, area residents, employees and visitors will get the chance to be surveyed in an effort by the Downtown Center Business Improvement District (DCBID) to determine what new businesses people want the most. The online survey should take no more than 10 minutes of your time to complete and can have direct implications as to how our urban core’s landscape plays out.

According to the DCBID, “The Survey results will be used to help recruit preferred restaurants, retailers and other providers of goods and services to Downtown LA to better serve those who live, work, play and visit here.”

Aside from basic geographic information, the survey inquires about everyday lifestyle choices such as how you get to work, what you do in your free time and how often you eat out in Downtown to get a better idea of which future businesses could serve our population best. It also identifies specific chains like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, which, according to surveyors, reveals a more realistic and accurate account of where residents prefer to shop and how far they are willing to travel to get them.

The results of the survey are provided to any business or company that’s considering setting up shop in the DTLA community and can be an insightful tool used to map the market potential of Downtown.
