Profile: Craig Knizek, Director Estate Division At The Agency – Ventura Blvd Magazine

by | Mar 20, 2013

The below profile appears in the latest issue of Ventura Blvd Magazine.

As the director of the Estate Division of pre-eminent boutique brokerage The Agency, Craig Knizek guides clients through the process of finding their dream home. He provides expert counsel to navigate the complex financial, legal and emotional aspects of a family’s largest and most important transaction. He joined The Agency when it started in 2011 and has worked in real estate for 13 years. Previously, Craig has produced television shows such as “Mad About you,” “The Simpsons” and “The Tracey Ullman Show.” He and his wife design and renovate homes through their family-owned business, Prescott Properties. They have two teenage daughters.

What areas do you primarily specialize in?

3950 Vantage Ave: Craig Knizek’s latest listing in Studio City, a rare large family compound in prime South of Ventura/Carpenter school district. View Listing

Craig: I know the city well enough that I work wherever my clients currently live and wherever they want to move to. I grew up in the West San Fernando Valley, and I have lived my entire life in Sherman Oaks and Studio City, so I know those areas well. I’ve sold Hidden Hills, Bell Canyon, Calabasas, Encino and Beverly Hills.

What would you like your potential clients to know about you?

C: That I’ve done an excellent job for one of your friends or family, and that I take pride to honor that referral very seriously. My goal is to serve you so well that you’ll be excited to then refer me to your friends and family.

What’s one trend that is defining the real estate industry today?

C: The extraordinarily low interest rates. It’s my belief that cash is dead and that the government is enticing investors toward risk assets. Los Angeles real estate feels like a safer bet than equities, and thus the retail buyer is competing against a flood of investor cash at all price levels.

What do your clients love about living in this area?

C: The sense of community—seeing your friends and neighbors around town. All the wonderful schools. Ventura Boulevard is constantly getting exciting new restaurants and places where everyone wants to be. I believe my clients share my sense of safety and belonging here.

How do you give back to the community?

C: I belong to the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association, and we actively support the Adam Hunter Knizek Memorial Fund at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
