The Agency’s Mauricio Umansky was in San Diego last week to host an invite-only open house at 1492 Cottontail Lane, La Jolla, a rare “figure 8” architectural home located in the exclusive neighborhood of Muirlands and designed by custom home designer Cherie Noble of Cherie Noble Designs.
While there Mauricio had a chance to talk with Fox5 San Diego about the home, which is co-listed with Joy Bender, as well as share his thoughts on the strength of the luxury real estate market in the San Diego area.

After the open house we asked Mauricio what he likes most about the stylish architectural home.
“I love its energy and the location,” said Mauricio. “I’m fascinated by the figure 8 design and the perfect balance it brings to the home and how seamless it flows from inside to the outside living areas. La Jolla has some of the best shopping, nightlight and restaurants in the country and nearby Windansea Beach has some amazing breaks and is legendary to surfers.”

With its unique “figure 8” design, the home was designed with perfectly balanced feng shui throughout and panoramic city to ocean views. The bottom half of the 8 includes the private and public rooms and the top portion of the 8 includes the outdoor living areas. Twelve hand carved shutters by different monks from the Ming dynasty line the hallway leading to ensuite bedrooms.
Inspired by a camp in Kenya, the indoor-outdoor lanai has steps cascading into the salt water pool. The living room is focused towards floor to ceiling glass walls with gorgeous panoramic views of the ocean, bay, Coronado, & Downtown San Diego.
