Competing in the National category we have L.A. standouts Suzanne Goin (Lucques’, West Hollywood) and Nancy Silverton (Pizzeria Mozza, Los Angeles) for most outstanding chef; Melisse (Santa Monica) and Patina (Los Angeles) for outstanding restaurant; Valentino’s (Santa Monica) Piero Selvggio and Lucques’ Caroline Styne for outstanding restaurateurs; Tar & Roses (Santa Monica) and BierBeisl (Beverly Hills) for best new restaurant; Rivera (Los Angeles) and the Varnish (Los Angeles) for outstanding bar program; Sycamore Kitchen’s (Los Angeles) Karen Hatfield for best pastry chef; Providence (Los Angeles) for best dining service; and BierBeisl’s Bernhard Mairinger along with Night + Market’s (Hollywood) Kris Yenbamroong for rising star chef of the year, a category for chefs 30 and under.
The following shortlisted chefs competing for Best Chef among the West are: Josef Centeno (Baco Mercat), Michael Cimarusti (Providence), Andrew Kirschner (Tar & Roses), David LeFevre (MB Post), John Sedlar (Rivera and Playa), Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (Animal), and Richard Zarate (Mo-Chica).
The Agency is also proud to share that the signature restaurant of one of our very own listings has received a nomination in the best new restaurant category: Mi Casa by José Andrés at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve (photo at right).
