Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie To Launch Wine Label

by | Feb 19, 2013

Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon release their very first wine label, a rose called Miraval.
Teaming up with Marc Perrin, whose family owns Chateau de Beaucastel in the southern Rhone Valley and pioneered organic viticulture in 1950, the star duo was armed with the region’s top expertise as they were on deck for blending sessions and designing the wine’s sleek new bottle and black label.
The wine is made with organic grapes from the couple’s 1,000-acre estate, Chateau Miraval (photo above), in Correns, France, which they purchased in 2011 after leasing the property for several years. The bottle’s label will bear the names “Jolie-Pitt and Perrin,” as the team plans to release white wines and red wines by the end of this summer and next year, respectively.
Miraval will be aged in stainless steel tanks, which help impart a floral, white lily aroma and brighter flavor notes of strawberry and raspberry.
Legendary film director Frances Ford Coppola was one of the first names to get into winemaking, having purchased his first vineyard in 1975, and celebrity interest in the off-screen venture shows no indication of slowing down.

Huffington Post reported several of Hollywood’s elite joining the business in 2012 alone, including Fergi, Richard Gere, and Drew Barrymore, whose Pinot Grigio won a gold medal at the Le Challenge International du Vin in France last summer. Entry into beer and spirits is proving to be attractive to celebrities too, for you can now fix yourself a glass of Oscar-winning actor George Clooney’s tequila, Casamigos, as you watch him on the big screen.

It’s also interesting to note that this isn’t the first time that Brad Pitt has left the acting studio to pursue a personal passion. Last year he brought his interest in contemporary art and design to life by teaming up with designer Frank Pollaro to create his first furniture collection. Let’s just say the phrase “triple-threat” is taking on a whole new meaning.
