Last night on CBS’s The Insider, Mauricio Umansky, CEO and co-founder of The Agency, gave viewers a tour of the legendary La Mesa Landmark Estate (aka, House of Rock) along with House of Rock founders Elaine Culotti and Jen Vernon.
Spanning more than 11,000 square feet of living space and overlooking Riviera Country Club, the estate has hosted a wealth of musical talent including Kathryn Grayson, the famed opera singer who remained the owner until her passing in 2010, and a number of contemporary artists such as John Legend, Babyface, and Christina Aguilera.
Designer Elaine Culotti, the home’s owner, explains how its defining element has always been about the music. Both a haven for artists to record and to create, it’s a rare display of luxury meets the artistic spirit. Not even Mauricio could resist testing out the mic in the state-of-the-art recording studio or stepping into the glass-enclosed steam shower and tub of the stunning “hers” master bathroom.
