Goldston Brothers Leap To New Heights At The Ritz-Carlton Residences At L.A. LIVE

by | Aug 14, 2012

The 25-year-old twin brothers behind the leap-enhancing shoe banned by the NBA have joined the ranks of entrepreneurs living sky high in Downtown Los Angeles at The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. LIVE.

Ryan and Adam Goldston, founders of the Beverly Hills-based Athletic Propulsion Labs, just bought adjacent homes on one of the top floors of the 54-story, five-star luxury residential tower poised high about LA’s entertainment and sports district.

The brothers struck business gold two years ago when they developed a basketball shoe that instantly increases a person’s vertical leap an additional 3 1/2 inches. The shoe was quickly banned by the NBA for providing players “an unfair advantage,” and the resultant PR immediately sent sales skyrocketing, bringing the brothers considerable acclaim as top young entrepreneurs in the US.

With their new homes at The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. LIVE, the Goldston brothers now live next door to the Staples Center where both the Lakers and Clippers play, the irony of which isn’t lost on them. “Basically, we are in the sports mecca of Los Angeles,” Adam tells the Los Angeles Business Journal. “It’s like we are above and looking down.”

And they’re living well too, as they enjoy 24-hour-access to legendary Ritz-Carlton hospitality, along with the property’s world-class amenities, like its roof-top pool, private screening room with club chair seating, and sky lobby, exclusively for owners, where everyday needs from dry cleaning to event tickets, like NBA games, are handled.

The LABJ reports that the brothers are now working on a pair of running shoes designed to make people run faster, and if they take off like their basketball shoes did, “We’ll move up to the penthouse,” says Ryan.
