WP24 At The Ritz-Carlton Serves Up Rooftop “Garden-To-Glass” Summer Cocktails

by | Aug 2, 2012

No, the cocktails don’t grow on trees, but it sure seems that way at The Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Los Angeles these days, where just two floors separate the herbs, fruit and flowers from your sun-kissed lips at the renowned WP24, Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant and lounge on the 24th floor.

You’ve heard of the “farm to table” food movement that has been revolutionizing the restaurant business, but “garden to glass”? Leave it to The Ritz-Carlton to raise the bar (and your glass) with this truly unique cocktail offering.

From limes to mint to basil, every ingredient is freshly plucked from the hotel’s bountiful garden, which shares sunlight with BLUE, the rooftop pool deck at The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. LIVE. Escape with a refreshing Verbena Lemonade made up of kalamansi, lemongrass, and verbena and infused with Ketel One Citroen Vodka. You can expect every concoction to reflect the whim and wit of WP24’s beverage director Klaus Puck (yes, Wolfgang’s brother), along with Mother Nature, of course. This is summer sippage at its finest.

The cocktail garden changes seasonally and currently boasts more than 15 varieties of fruits, herbs and plants, including basil, chervil, chives, fennel, lemon, lime, mint, orange, pansy and verbena.

From 5-7 pm, enjoy a Garden-to-Glass Summer Cocktail alongside four treats all for $24. More photos and info here.
