Video: Base Jumping The World’s Deepest Sea Cave at Blue Hole Bay

by | Dec 22, 2011

World champion freediver Guillaume Nery and his girlfriend Julie Gautier shot this stunning film, titled “Free Fall,” when they were at Dean’s Blue Hole during a freediving competition. Officially designated one of the Top 77 Natural Wonders of the World, the underwater sink hole located on Long Island in the Bahamas is the deepest blue hole in the world, plunging 663 feet down into a seemingly bottomless blue depth.

Shot over four days, Nery describes the film as “fiction” and “an artistic project.”

“I don’t claim to have reached the bottom of the hole (202m) without rope and fins, as the world record in no-fins discipline is 95m. We made this movie to show another approach in free diving videos. We wanted to express the strength of the elements, water-earth-air and the sensations of freedom, harmony, exploration.”

Dean’s Blue Hole is situated in the 180-acre Blue Hole Bay, a truly one-of-a-kind property. It is open-zoned and thus limited only by one’s imagination, whether a large resort or development of ultra exclusive private homes.

This slice of paradise is one of, if not the, definitive trophy parcels of the Caribbean, fit for the dreamer who wants to make their own personal idea of pure bliss come to life. It is for the person who wants to own a Natural Wonder of the world, and for those that choose to indulge in only the best of the best, without exception.
